Share their First Chores of the Year with #RoosterFirsts

Watching your child do something special for the very first time is a proud moment for any parent. RoosterMoney can help families commemorate quite a few of these important firsts, as kids take their initial steps towards becoming financially literate and capable. That’s what Rooster Firsts is all about. RoosterMoney has put together a programme of challenges and prizes to support, guide and cheer on both parents and kids, as they take these important big steps together. 

So what is it all about?

Of course, crossing off those important milestones is a bit harder right now. However, we’re all spending a bit more time together in the house, which means we probably all have a bit more time to do a few household jobs. That’s why we’d like you to share your first chore routine.

It can be something as simple as tidying away toys, or something as drastic as redecorating the house. And it doesn’t have to be your child’s very first time. It could be the first time this year, the first time with RoosterMoney, or their first really successful go at this particular task.

How does it work?

1. Simply take a video, a screenshot, or a photo of the your child’s chore routine – it could be the work undertaken, the finished result, or even a before-and-after collage, if you’re feeling adventurous – whatever is a good fit for you. It doesn’t strictly have to be their first ever chore routine, it could be the first one of the year, the week, the day – we just want to see chores in action.
2. Share it with us by emailing us at hello@roostermoney.com using ‘Rooster Firsts’ in the subject line, or via instagram, tagging us @roostermoneyhq and using the hashtag #RoosterFirsts.

Each month we’ll pick one lucky winner, and reward them with:

1. 1. a £50/$70 voucher (which should pay for quite a few chores),
   2. a free Rooster Card or PLUS subscription, for a year.
   3. a certificate recognising their achievements.

Need a little help with chores?

It’s sometimes a bit hard to work out what chores suit children of different ages. However, this guide should give you a hand; it lists chores for kids by age, from 4 to fourteen, along with the amount parents pay for each chore.

Kids can also send parents photo proof of a job well done. They just need to tap on their chore, click ‘Done’ and they’ll have the option to send a photo along with the chore for approval!
