Chores for 6 year olds

6 year olds may not be old enough to go out and get a paper round, but they can often be keen to earn, so here’s some age appropriate chores for your budding money makers. We’ve included the average price per chore here too, but that doesn’t mean you have to pay per chore, a lot of families prefer to separate household chores from extra jobs to boost their income.

Top Tip

“As well as all of the ways that I can see our pocket money routine helping the kids, we also have more money in our pockets. We are now less inclined to buy random treats for the children when we’re all out and about. If they see things they like, we remind them to save up for it and they don’t question it any further. They love having their own money, and at an early age, they are learning that it is their responsibility to manage it.”
