We’ve upgraded Goals

Hi there,

The version of Goals that your child is using in the Rooster Money app is being upgraded to a new version called savings pots. You won’t be able to add any new Goals using the old Goal Pots.

Before this change happens in 30 days, you can transfer any money your child has saved in Goals over to a new savings pot. If you don’t do this, we’ll just move any money they’ve saved back into their spend pot.

What’s next?

Transfer any money they have in their Goal Pot to a new savings pot before 20th June. To do this:

Go to your child’s dashboard
Tap “Add a pot” and select “Add a savings pot”
If they want, give the savings pot a title, colour and a picture
Add a goal amount, or continue without
Create the savings pot

Then, in their new savings pot

Tap the three dots in the bottom right corner
Select “Transfer”
Swipe the top row until you find their old Goal Pot
Enter the amount to transfer, then tap “Transfer”

What are savings pots?

Savings pots are very similar to Goals, except that each pot you or your child creates will appear on their dashboard. This makes it easier for them to track their progress as soon as they open the app.

They can name their savings pots, add an image, create a goal they’re saving towards, flip their pot between their saved amount and the picture of what they’re saving for, and even pick a different colour for each pot to brighten up their dashboard.
