Back in May, we emailed to let you know that our old version of Goals was being upgraded to savings pots, so you could transfer any of their saved money in their old Goal Pot to a new savings pot.

 

Since the old Goal Pots have now been closed, if your child had one and didn’t actively move the money out of it, their money has been automatically transferred to their Spend pot.

 

You can set up a new savings pot for them by following the instructions here.

Savings pots are very similar to Goals, except that each pot you or your child creates will appear on their dashboard. This makes it easier for them to track their progress as soon as they open the app. 

 

They can name their savings pots, add an image, create a goal they’re saving towards, flip their pot between what their saved amount and the picture of what they’re saving for, and even pick a different colour for each pot to brighten up their dashboard.

As a parent, you also get some useful settings to help support your child’s saving.

 

You can lock their pot

Encourage their saving by preventing them from removing money or stars from the pot. You’ll always have access to lock their pots.

 

Choose if a child can edit their pot

You might want to prevent your child from changing the target amount associated with their savings pot. By enabling this option, they can’t make changes to it.
