Important app change for Rooster Card families

We will soon be introducing a change for parents and children with Rooster Card access to better secure your RoosterMoney account.

In the next app version (8.1.0) which will soon be released, you and any children with a Rooster Card will be required to enter an account password when returning to the app.

Here are some tips to help with the transition:

1. Enable Face or Fingerprint ID / Authentication – if your device has biometric authentication, you can enable this to be used when opening the app and for password actions. This can be enabled on a parent device from ‘Manage Account’, and on a child’s device in their ‘Settings’. This means you won’t have to enter your password as it will use your in-built biometric authentication instead. Learn more.

2. Set or remind your child of their password – you can set up or check what your child’s password is by viewing their login details in the app. With this change, if your child has a 4 digit passcode set, they will no longer be able to use this with ‘switch user’ to login to their account. So it’s important a password is set for them to use going forward.

3. Request a password reset if you’re unsure – if you aren’t sure of your parent password, you can request a password reset from the app login screen or by contacting hello@roostermoney.com with the email address you’ve signed up to Rooster with.

If you have any questions, please do get in touch by tapping ‘Contact us’ in the app to start a chat or by emailing us at hello@roostermoney.com.

We’ll let you know when app version 8.1.0 is ready to install!
