The Paris 2024 Olympic Games are less than 100 days away and as partners of Team GB, we are more than excited for them to arrive. The Olympics are a fun time for the whole family and the energy surrounding the events is always contagious. If you’re looking to bring some of that energy home, here are five Olympic games for kids that you can try out at home.

Obstacle courses
Get your timer out and lay a track around the garden, then time the kids as they go through the obstacle course you have set out. Build bridges, lay out some cones and hurdles, put the slide in the middle, throw some cushions on the ground and get some bean bags out. You could use a range of items from stepping stones, cones, bean bags and rings for a ring toss.
You can still have just as much fun without special equipment or by using items you already have around the house. Maybe the kids have to hop between picnic blankets to avoid the lava, or get spun around three times before they run down the garden to the finish line. Let your imagination run wild to design a course that the whole family can enjoy.
Relay
The relay is one of the most exciting events of the Olympic Games and you can make it a fun Olympic game for the kids at home too. All you need is a baton and two teams to compete against each other. The kids’ Olympic games are sure to get competitive as both teams battle it out for the fastest time. If you’re stuck for space at home, you can play this at your local park where there is more room for the kids to run around.
Limbo
The whole family can test their flexibility (and have a fair few laughs) in the Limbo event. You could get the parents to hold a broom and see who can go the lowest in this family favourite. This makes for a fun Olympics game that can be played both indoors or outdoors – just make sure Mum or Dad doesn’t put their back out when they give it a go.
Swimming
The kid’s Olympics Games would be incomplete without swimming. Get competitive with timed swimming sessions at the local leisure centre. Swim laps in the pool and time them to see who can swim the fastest laps in different styles. The kids are going to enjoy flexing their swimming skills and being in the water.
Gymnastics
Add style to the Kids Olympics Games with a gymnastics event that the kids can participate in. Put on some music in the background and get the kids to do roly polys (forward roll), handstands and cartwheels. If you have a trampoline then get the kids to do some stylish jumps – extra points for sticking a landing.
Indoor Olympics
If sports aren’t for your family, why not host a games tournament with a range of board games and online games instead. In the run up to the Olympics, the kids can play Monopoly, chess and even video games to compete for points. To mark the end of the first annual Olympics, the family can host a closing ceremony by doing an activity you like to do together, for example karaoke.
