After a VERY tough winter, it’s time for kids to head back to school. Feeling ready? Plenty of families are finding it hard to get back into the swing of the academic week. However, you can tick off a lot of back-to-school chores in one go, by getting your child a Rooster Card. Here’s how and why.
It's cashless, contactless and it fits in with the way we all use money now ?
The Rooster Card is a pre-paid debit card for children over the age of six. You can’t go into debt with the card, parents can freeze its use any time they like via the parental app, and it definitely can’t be used for grown-up services, such as gambling sites.
It’s also contactless, which means kids can practice paying like grown-ups, and learn some practical, financial skills. Used in conjunction with the RoosterMoney app, it encourages kids to manage their money, by organising it under different headings: Spend, Save, Give, or Goals. Oh, and it also works online, letting them buy from Amazon or spend their pocket money on video games.
Oh, and you’ll also get a really useful notification every time your child makes a purchase – so you can keep track.
From catching the bus or train, through to paying for lunch, it's actually a great school tool ? ??
Get a Rooster Card, and say goodbye to lost lunch money, missing train tickets and unexpected requests for after-school shopping trips. School children with a Rooster Card can pay for public transport, buy lunch at the canteen, and spend pocket money on the way home from school.
In fact, the card itself is a useful learning tool, allowing kids to spend, save, and learn about real-world financial management.
A card can get them saving for a few school upgrades ?
Last year’s backpack might look a bit out of style, but should you be paying for it? Get a Rooster Card, set some timely Rooster Goals in the app, and for kids themselves can work towards these discretionary purchases, either by setting aside their pocket money, or by carrying out chores (which you can also set in the app).
The card also lets you stay in control ?
The RoosterMoney app sends you updates to let you know what your children are spending their money on. You can also give them a top-up via the app, if they’re running low on funds, or deserve a reward, and you can even stop their card, if they aren’t behaving themselves.
You can also earn a nice bonus ?
If you or your children get a friend to sign up to a Rooster Card, you could earn £10 each if you use our Refer A Friend feature in app! That’ll buy quite a few after school treats. Check out the full list of family friendly features that come with our Rooster Card here. Please note that the Rooster Card is only currently available in the UK.
