Meet 7 NatWest Ambassadors from Team GB and ParalympicsGB

A lance corporal in the Royal Marines with experience in football and rugby, Taylor Lawrence first tried bobsleigh in 2019 and secured his place on the Team GB four-man team led by Brad Hall, and made his debut in the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics. In 2023 he was part of Hall’s crew that won the first four-man World Championships medal in 84 years. The team also made history by being crowned European champions for the first time, adding another European bronze to their name in 2025.

Beth Shriever’s road to the Olympics began at just nine years old when she was invited down to Braintree BMX club in Essex. Falling in love with the sport, she had her eyes set on gold from the start.

In Tokyo, just four years after breaking through the senior ranks, Beth made her dream come true when she won the Women’s BMX racing gold medal.

Beth hopes to be a role model to young female BMX riders all over the UK. She was awarded an MBE in the 2022 New Year Honours.

Samantha Kinghorn MBE, is a Scottish Paralympic and World Champion wheelchair racer. At the age of 14 she became paralysed after an accident on her family’s farm. She didn’t let this stop her, as she embraced wheelchair racing, and quickly ascended to elite status.

At the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, Sammi secured her first Paralympic gold in the T53 100m, alongside four silver medals in the 400m, 800m, and 1500m events as well as the Universal Relay. Her contributions to disability sport were recognised with an MBE in 2022.

Beyond athletics, Sammi shares her passion for the outdoors as a presenter on BBC’s Countryfile.

Max Whitlock’s career has been one of firsts. The gymnast made history at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games when he won Great Britain’s first medal in the all-around event in 108 years, before becoming a double Olympic champion at the floor and pommel events – the first ever British gymnast to win Olympic gold.

Already Team GB’s most successful Olympic gymnast ahead of his arrival in Tokyo for the 2020 games, Whitlock kept his Olympic title by winning the men’s pommel horse event, his third gold medal on sport’s greatest stage, as well as claiming a fourth-place finish in the all-around team event.

Although Max retired from gymnastics in 2024, he is still active as a sports ambassador, public speaker, business owner and charity patron.

Hailing from Cambridge, the athlete made history at the 2012 London Paralympics when he claimed the gold medal for the T44 100m and set the new Paralympic record of 10.91 seconds.

He reclaimed the gold at the 2016 Rio Paralympics, and then went on to score bronze in 2020 Tokyo Paralympics, and silver in the 4 x 100m Universal Relay alongside fellow Paralympian Sammi Kinghorn, in both 2020 Tokyo and 2024 Paris Paralympics.

Aside from the Olympic games, Jonnie has also secured gold medals in the World Championships and European Championships T44 100m events.

Jonnie was awarded the MBE in 2013 for his services to athletics. He is also the first amputee Paralympian to compete on BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing in 2017. He most recently published a book titled ‘You Can Do Anything’, an inspirational book tailored to kids 9+ to help them build confidence and achieve their goals.

Nottingham’s Emily Campbell wrote her name in the history books as the winner of Team GB’s first-ever medal in women’s weightlifting, with silver in the +87kg category in Tokyo.

It was Campbell’s gold-winning performance in the 2021 World Championships that sent her to Japan. But her heroic first Olympic gold medal was the result of years of hard work and record-breaking results. In 2017, Campbell set a new national record in the British Championships. And just a year later, she scooped bronze at the 2018 Commonwealth Games.

Since Paris, Campbell has continued to secure her place amongst the world’s best, with 2024 and 2025 European gold.

Hannah’s rowing journey began at Bann Rowing Club in Coleraine at just 13 years old. Hannah quickly rose through the ranks, securing five national titles and eight silver medals at the Irish Rowing Championships. Hannah has cemented her place in history as the first female athlete from Northern Ireland to win an Olympic gold medal in 52 years, and as the youngest member of the Team GB rowing team at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

In 2023, Hannah played a leading role in Great Britain’s women’s quadruple sculls team, winning gold at the World Rowing Championships in Belgrade. Then again in 2024, where they won the European Championships in Szeged. Her crowning moment came at the Paris 2024 Olympics, where she and her teammates delivered a stunning gold-medal performance.

For her contributions to rowing and her impact on women’s sport, Hannah was appointed MBE in the 2025 New Year Honours.
