Thinking of gifting a Rooster Card this Christmas?
This prepaid debit card could be a great gift for kids aged 6-17. It can be used in shops, online and at ATMs, and could give children a sense of independence and financial responsibility, while letting parents retain some control.
It’s also quick and easy to set up. You can top it up instantly, see how it’s being used (with notifications sent when the card has been used), and you can stay in control by setting spending limits and other smart restrictions. But first you’ve got to order one. Here’s how you do it.
Card for ages 6-17. £1.99/mo or £19.99/yr. Criteria and T&Cs apply. Other fees may apply.
📱 Make sure you have installed the app
Ensure you’ve signed up to NatWest Rooster Money and have added your child in the app.
💳 Once you’ve added your child, order the Rooster Card.
Tap ‘Rooster Card’ from the menu to see our plan options and to take out a free trial of the Rooster Card. From there, follow the instructions to get set up and order the card for your child.
NatWest group customers can get up to three Rooster Card subscriptions for free. Learn more about this Rooster Card offer here.
Subscription fees apply via auto renewal after first month’s trial has ended.
🎄 Make sure you order the card in time for Christmas
At Rooster Money we’re pretty quick at turning around an order, but with Christmas being a busy time of year, we advise Rooster Cards are ordered by early December to ensure the card makes it under the Christmas tree in time.
💌 When the card is on its way, watch the post
Christmas morning surprises are great, and if you’re giving this card as a surprise gift, make sure you intercept the mail as the Rooster Card is addressed to your child. Also, if your child has not logged into Rooster Money yet, you might want to wait until you’ve gifted them their card because once a card is assigned to your child, a new card section will show in their app.
